More than 110 years since the first Berkel slicer was invented, it
is once again the undisputed market leader. The new
Avantgarde replaces the well known but now obsolete Berkel
Berkel 800S and 834, eliminated from the catalogue in 2005
which were designed decades ago and modified several times
during their life times, but which were no longer able to meet
the latest regulations and high standards of hygiene, safety and
reliability demanded by customers worldwide and by Berkel
itself. Berkel is strongly convinced that the current stringent
requirements of the market can not be fully met by products
designed decades ago when the laws either did not exist or
were very different from those which exist today.
